Frequently Asked Questions

  • How will I be charged for boarding?
We charge similarly to a hotel for humans! We require a card on file and a 50% deposit at the time of reservation. Our check-out time is between 7am and Noon the morning of your pickup day. If you need to pick up later in the day, you will be charged a late check-out fee of $35.00. For example, if you drop off your pup on Monday afternoon, and pick up on Tuesday after 12:00 pm, you would be charged a $35.00 late fee.
  • What are your boarding/daycare requirements?
Age Requirements: We will allow puppies as young as 13 weeks to start daycare on a limited basis. They must have all age related / relative shots to attend Daycare or Overnight Boarding. Vaccination Requirements: Rabies (1-3 years), DAPP/DHPP (1-3 years), Bordetella (yearly), we recommend, but do not require the Canine Influenza H3N2+H3N8 (yearly). Puppies should have all age appropriate vaccines. Spayed or neutered by 7 months (or first heat, whichever occurs first) All dogs must attend a 45 minute Meet & Greet before attending daycare or staying for overnight boarding. We will spend about 45 minutes together getting to know your pup’s history and personality, and introducing them to some of our other pups. We want to learn about your pup’s play style and personality so that we can match them with the best play partners!
  • Is a human watching my dog the whole time they are in your care?
Yes, we have trained staff members onsite, loving and caring for your pup 24 hours a day.
  • Is your facility safe and secure?
Our facility is staffed by trained dog professionals 24/7 365 days a year. The building features a state-of-the-art security system, and smoke detection systems that alert police and fire departments in the event of an emergency.
  • Can I tour your facility?
Of course. When you come in for your dog’s 45 minute Meet & Greet visit, we will give you a full tour of the building. For pet parents who just want to see what we are all about, we offer in-person tours by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule your visit.
  • Can you administer medication?
Yes. We can administer any prescribed medication, including injectables.
  • How do I find out how my pup is doing during their Daycare, Boarding, or Grooming stay?
We pride ourselves on our communication with pet parents. We know from experience that being away from your furry family member can be stressful. All Rose City Dog members have access to our customized App. Our App allows pet parents to not only register, make payments, and check out with ease. It allows them to view real time pictures and videos of their pup throughout their stay. You are also welcome to call or email us for updates. We take these inquiries very seriously and will respond as quickly as possible.
  • Why does my dog need vaccinations to be eligible for Daycare, Grooming, or Boarding?
Dogs, like people, are prone to contagious illnesses. Vaccinations can minimize, or, in some cases, eliminate the possibility of transmission of these illnesses and protect your dog as well as the other dogs in our care.
  • What does a 45 Minute Meet & Greet look like?
Our Meet & Greet visits are designed to see if the dogs coming into the daycare space are comfortable here and want to be here. We also check to see that their behavior is consistent with fun and safe play with other dogs and people. This process is fully transparent and we encourage you, the pet parent, to be a part of it. Daycare and boarding at Rose City Dogs is different from anywhere else. We emphasize safe and fun play opportunities for dogs who want to engage socially with other dogs. We will schedule a 45 minute appointment to get to know you and your dog. First, we invite your dog and you the pet parent to be part of the session. We not only want to see how your dog does with other dogs, we want you to be able to see what it’s going to be like for your dog during their time here. We start by asking a few questions about how your dog does with other dogs and people. Then we slowly introduce them to a variety of other dogs. We want to take the time to understand your dog well — how they play, what sensitivities they might have, and how they might respond to the play space. Once the visit is complete, we will share our observations with you and proceed accordingly.
  • What happens if my dog fails the 45 Minute Meet & Greet?
We do not view the Meet & Greet as a pass or fail scenario. We understand that being in a new environment can be stressful for some dogs. If for some reason your dog is not yet comfortable around other dogs in our daycare/boarding setting, we can work with you both to help get them ready for daycare and make recommendations for activities and/or training services that address their specific needs.
